With the inmplementation of the Community Oriented Government Initiative through the City Manager's office, the Service Delivery Team for District II, is well on it's way working with the community to begin the process of priortizing issues of concern through district-wide quarterly meetings.
The Service Delivery System is designed to provide Oaklanders with inmproved services. While we realize that there are many issues in the district and limited resources, it is imcumbent upon the team to develop ways in which to focus the many interests into a few tangible projects that will produce visible results in the district.
The team consists of community members, council members, police, fire, and Public Works, Community Economic Development Agency, Life Enrichment Agency, as well as the City Attorney's office.
Many teams have begun to create informational brochures for distribution. The Oaklanders Assistant Center (238-6868 or 444-2489) is a resource in the City that should be utilized for those individual complaints that can be easily resolved.
The next meeting with the Service Delivery Team is sheduled for September 25, 1999, and will be held at the Golden Gate Recreation Center, located at 1075 62nd. Street.
