Our Neighborhood

The North Hills Phoenix Association (NHPA) is happy to particpate in the formation of the North Hill’s Neighborhood Crime Prevention Council (NCPC) for Community Policing Beat 13Y.

Our NCPC executive committee meetings are generally held on the first Wednesday of each month (unless otherwise noted) with public meetings held each quarter.  All meetings are held at Hiller Highlands Country Club, 110 Hiller Drive at 7 PM.

The NCPC is an important part of Oakland’s Community Policing.  Many neighborhoods have active NCPCs. They operate by having a Problem Solving Officer (PSO) who then works with the Neighborhood Services Coordinator (NSC) to respond to quality of life issues.  At NCPC meetings, the PSO and NSC meet with the residents of a neighborhood to discuss problems of crime and how the PSO, Oakland Police, and the City of Oakland can work with the community to resolve those problems.
